Ademir is a highly skilled chemical engineer and mining industry expert with a broad range of experience in studies, project delivery and project/business management. As Director, Technical Solutions SoAm at Ausenco, he is responsible for developing and overseeing a team of engineers focused on delivering projects/studies for copper, gold, iron, molybdenum and lithium. He is also responsible for further developing our lithium capabilities and for the strategic pursuit of new business opportunities in Chile and Argentina applicating the Ausenco Approach and new technologies developed globally by Ausenco.
Ademir has over 40 years of professional experience in preparation, evaluation, construction and management of mining projects specialized in extractive metallurgy, including metalliferous ores (gold, silver, copper, iron, nickel, arsenic, molybdenum, rhenium, lead and zinc), lithium brines and minerals salts (sodium nitrate, sodium sulphate and iodine). He has wide experience as a researcher, in geometallurgical modelling and metallurgical test works for PFD (Process Flow Diagram) design. In Project Delivery companies, Ademir is experienced as design engineer, discipline leader, project manager, local and regional functional manager and global process manager. At owner companies of Mining and Chemical Industries, Ademir have had positions as project director, general manager and board member.
Ademir has been an Associated Engineer of Rio Tinto Technical Services & Senior Consultant in disciplines of Processes, Business Evaluation, Peer Reviewer & Senior Advisor of Rio Tinto Exploration & Mining, BHPB, Codelco, Antofagasta Minerals, SQM and Anglo American.
He has participated in mining and chemical projects in Chile, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Brazil and Mexico in Latin America, in Australia and in countries of the Copper Belt in Africa.
He is a fellow member of the Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas de Chile (IIMCh) and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM-Los Andes Branch) and regularly presents papers at local mining and chemical conventions throughout Latin America.
