Austin brings expertise in machine learning, data analytics, statistical modelling, structural engineering (including marine structures), and project management. His academic background focused on designing and deploying deep learning neural networks for computer vision applications, providing him a strong foundation for data science and software development projects.
Combining his academic knowledge and project experience, Austin uses advanced modelling and analysis techniques, integrating these into project workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs in supply chains. He also brings experience as a structural engineer on various infrastructure projects across North America. Notably, he contributed to the Trans Mountain Lower Mainland Expansion project, serving as a structural engineer on the Westridge Marine Terminal, Burnaby Terminal, spread 7, and spread 5B construction segments.
Austin holds a bachelors of applied science in civil engineering from the University of Toronto, Canada, and a master’s in data science from the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada.
