Berge is a registered professional engineer with over 20 years of global experience in mineral processing, metallurgical operations, technical governance, and strategic leadership. His work spans precious metals, base metals and industrial minerals with a strong focus on optimizing performance and delivering durable, value-driven results.
As Vice President, Technical Services, Berge provides technical direction and governance across Ausenco’s North American projects ensuring clients receive value-focused solutions that are technically sound, operationally practical and aligned with long-term strategic objectives. He plays a key role in strengthening client relationships, supporting business development initiatives and collaborating with internal stakeholders to maximize performance and value on studies and projects.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering with a specialization in mineral processing from the University of British Columbia. He has completed extensive professional development in cashflow modeling, advanced process control, SAG milling, mass balancing, JK SimMet modeling, Six Sigma statistical process control, and various leadership programs.
Berge is a registered Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC), and an active member of the mining community through ongoing involvement with the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum (CIM), Canadian Mineral Processors (CMP) and SAG Conference Award Foundation. He was awarded CIM Fellow status in May 2024 and will serve as the chairperson for SAG Conference 2027.
