Carl has more than 23 years’ experience delivering EPCM and EPC projects, building and managing large teams and business units in the resources, energy, and infrastructure industries. Carl has held roles in engineering, construction, consulting, and government companies and served as an Officer in the Royal Engineers of the British Army, completing tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Carl has managed several high profile and complex projects with multiple sites, diverse scopes, and stakeholder priorities around the world, including the UK, Europe, America, the Middle East, South Africa and Australia.
Having led strategy and development teams as well as operations of business units delivering engineering, construction, operations, maintenance and shutdown services, Carl has developed strategic contracting strategies and managed critical commercial negotiations on large processing projects.
He is a proud advocate for diversity and inclusion and plays an active role as an implementation leader for programs, including, CEOs for gender equity and Champions of Change Coalition. He has lobbied government agencies to consider diversity as part of their procurement processes and championed programs to accelerate an equal progression of females into leadership roles. Carl mentors at the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and supports and guides Indigenous Australian businesses with strategy and business case development.
Carl currently sits on the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy (CME) and is also a Non-Executive Director of Solaris Cancer Care.
