Mining necessitates balanced solutions that reduce risks and create lasting value for project-affected people and mining companies alike.

Chris’ experience spans the full mining project lifecycle, from exploration to closure. He has worked on projects in unique climates, ecosystems, and regulatory regimes across the globe. His experience includes open pit and underground mines employing various methods such as caving, long-hole stoping, room and pillar, and overhand/underhand cut and fill for copper, gold, nickel, and iron projects. Chris has expertise in safety improvement, integrated mine and closure planning, process optimisation and de-bottlenecking, phased environmental assessments, abatement and demolition services, environmental remediation, and community engagement.

Chris leads teams of multi-disciplinary technical advisors and field personnel while championing safe work practices. He leverages his understanding of the connections between mining and environmental principles to enhance project value, reduce environmental risks, and improve community outcomes. Chris incorporates waste reduction and circular economy concepts into his work, including the beneficial reuse of residuals. He supports clients and communities by developing returning land use plans after mining operations end.

Recently, Chris has been involved in numerous scopes of work on the Faro Mine Remediation project, one of Canada’s largest abandoned mine cleanups. He also provided strategic mine-to-tailings de-bottlenecking solutions for a large-scale copper-gold mine in British Columbia, Canada.

Chris is a licensed professional engineer with memberships in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and the Yukon in Canada. He earned a bachelor’s of science in mining engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and a master’s of applied science in environmental engineering, focused on mine waste management, from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
