Edwin is lead hydraulic engineer responsible for the hydraulic design of pipeline transport systems for our mining clients, including pre-commissioning and commissioning pipeline projects for international clients. He has experience designing pipelines for the transport of mine water (Including fresh, reclaimed and treated water) as well as mining concentrate and tailings slurries for copper, zinc, and others.
Edwin specializes in hydraulic calculations including transient analysis and trade-off studies for long distance tailings and water pipelines. He holds a bachelor’s degree in fluid mechanics engineering and is completing a master’s degree in computational hydraulic engineering. Edwin brings over 15 years of hydraulic design experience, including the design of high-pressure pipelines, pump stations, valve stations, choke stations and terminal stations.
Edwin was recently Project Manager for several projects, including thhe Tailings Transport System Improvement Planning and Hydraulic Assessment Services for Antioquia Gold LTD, Laboratory tests for tailings samples for MMG Las Bambas and Antioquia Gold LTD. Edwin has worked on several high-profile projects at Ausenco including the Zafranal Copper project, responsible for the review of the design of the water transport systems and tailings transport systems. Additionally, he worked on the detailed engineering of the bypass design for the Antamina Copper Zinc Pipeline project and a pre-feasibility study and detail engineering design of the trucking option for the Las Bambas Copper project.
