George Meadows is a recognized leader in the field of stakeholder engagement and Indigenous relations and negotiations.

George has over 20 years of experience providing public, stakeholder, and Indigenous consultation, engagement, negotiation, and strategic advisory services, as well as environmental planning and managing assessment-related needs and issues.

Before joining Ausenco, George worked for many years within the provincial and federal governments in various capacities and departments, holding leadership positions within Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency, and the BC Environmental Assessment Office. He has specialized experience in land and resource-related areas, and has worked on both marine and large-scale infrastructure and energy development projects.

George is currently leading a variety of Indigenous consultation, negotiation, and dispute resolution initiatives on behalf of a broad range of public and private sector clients. In addition to leading the development of Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s consultation strategy in relation to the proposed Roberts Bank Terminal 2 project, George is overseeing the majority of these initiatives, ensuring they are being delivered within the context of project planning and regulatory approval processes associated with the development of major energy, infrastructure, and mining projects within BC.
