Javier is the Electrical Team Lead for Ausenco’s Industrial & Infrastructure (I&I) group in Vancouver, responsible for managing 50+ electrical, instrumentation & controls engineers and drafters working in the engineering/design of various industrial, utilities, and mining projects.
Javier has worked on the detailed design of power distribution systems, and completed protection & control and power studies, as well as condition assessments and cost estimates for the Engineering Institute of Canada. He has worked as Electrical Lead for major projects such as the Rosemont Copper Project located in Arizona, USA and the Atikokan Biomass Plant Project in Ontario, Canada.
As Project Manager, Javier has led the electrical and civil/structural design teams on projects for multiple substations for BC Hydro projects throughout the province of British Columbia. For TransLink, Javier has coordinated the design and construction of various equipment for most stations of the elevated Skytrain train network in Vancouver.
Javier has a Master of Science from the Moscow Energy Institute, Russia, a Business Management Diploma from Andes University in Colombia, and a Project Management Certificate from SAIT, Canada.
