John has 25 years’ experience covering the development of minerals processing and materials handling projects from initial feasibility studies through to execution and operational support. This includes a wide range of industries including coal, various minerals and grain within Australia and overseas. More than 10 years has been spent in the coal industry, mainly in the design and development of coal handling and preparation plants (CHPPs) and associated infrastructure.

He has delivered numerous feasibility studies and projects, greenfield and brownfield, for major coal producers in the Bowen Basin (Qld), Hunter Valley (NSW) and abroad. John’s extensive technical expertise extends to materials handlings systems, in particular, covering the design of stockyards including stacking and reclaim, truck, rail and ship loading, conveyors, feeders, bins, transfers, crushing and sizing systems. He also has a strong background in coal preparation and hydrometallurgical processing facilities.

Having held multidisciplinary engineering leadership positions with several organisations, John has developed a strong background in delivering the best value engineering using a wide range of strategies, project delivery methodologies, systems and tools.
