As the world’s resources get more scarce and existing resources are found in remote locations, our clients are turning to us for safe, reliable and cost-effective modes of transportation.

Julie is a Manager, Hydraulic Engineering with over 14 years of experience in pipeline, process and mechanical design engineering, from conceptual study level to detailed engineering, commissioning, start-up, as well as system operation and modification. Her experience includes long-distance slurry pipelines, tailings pipelines and distribution systems, and water pipelines. Julie was previously a Mechanical and Process Design Engineer at a nuclear waste facility, where she built a strong foundation in project execution.

As a lead pipeline engineer at Ausenco, Julie is responsible for overseeing major pipelines projects from design, through to commissioning and maintenance. Julie facilitates global pipelines projects and supports our clients, ensuring we deliver fit for purpose solutions that exceed their expectations. In addition to her technical capabilities and client focus, Julie is mentor to a team of young pipeline engineers, challenging them to think outside of the box, implement slurry pipeline best practices and guiding their professional development.

Julie’s expertise can be felt on many Ausenco projects past and present including:

  • OCP Phosphate Slurry Pipeline Systems – Located in Morocco, the Northern Axis System is a comprehensive network of slurry pipelines designed by Ausenco that mix, blend, batch and bring material to port. Julie consults on operations, pipeline modifications and conducts audits to assess how the pipelines are operating. Based on the successful operation of the first pipeline network, Julie is now leading the engineering design for a second network of slurry pipelines for OCP in their Central Axis system.
  • Tata Steel Iron Concentrate and Return Water Pipeline System – Based in India, this project includes the design and implementation of a return water pipeline system to return scarce water resources back to remote mining regions. As lead engineer and project engineer, Julie completed concept studies and basic engineering on two separate slurry and return water pipeline systems.

Julie is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a BS Chemical Engineering degree from Tulane University.
