Kelly’s work on pipeline transport systems covers all aspects of a pipeline project, from concept design through to operation & monitoring. Backed by over 18 years of international project experience, a degree in metallurgy, and licenses in civil and mechanical engineering, Kelly has an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of fluid dynamics as applied to pipeline size and commodity. He has experience designing pipelines for the transport of tailings, water, diesel, phosphoric acid and various types of slurries.
As the Principal Pipeline Engineer at Ausenco’s Concord office, Kelly has worked on numerous international pipeline projects, including: Doe Run Cobriza (Peru), Los Pelambres (Chile), Pena Colorada (Mexico), Tintaya (Peru), Cayeli Bakir (Turkey), Kupol (Russia) and most recently, OCP (Morocco). His degree in computer science gives him a firm understanding of advanced simulations and monitoring software (Pipeline Advisor™), as well as the ability to program unique software that is customized to the client’s problem at hand. Kelly’s aptitude for computational fluid dynamics and experience with various pipelines offer him the expertise to deliver a truly fit-for-purpose solution for any of his clients’ projects.
