As the Operations Manager for the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Michael leads engineering teams to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and deliver cost-effective solutions for large-scale projects. He develops and implements asset reliability strategies, oversees budgets, and drives continuous improvement through predictive and reliability-centred maintenance and performance metrics.
Michael specialises in asset reliability management and operational excellence. He manages diverse projects, optimising equipment performance and improving overall effectiveness. His experience includes leading reliability efforts for global companies such as Vale, Dow Chemical and Rio Tinto.
Recently, Michael was the engineering and plant maintenance manager leading the commissioning and start-up of operations for a lithium plant in Chile. He directed the field operations engineering and maintenance team; managed the plant’s development and implementation through commissioning, start-up, and operations; and developed comprehensive maintenance and asset reliability strategies aligned with the clients’ goals.
He is a professional electrical engineer skilled in project management and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Michael holds a Master of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Lakehead University in Canada. He is also a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
