Vanessa has over 15 years of experience in project management and consulting for environmental impact studies and risk assessments, including environmental and social assessments, audits and community consultation in the mining sector. She has led multiple studies for major open pit projects in Panama and Peru for medium and large mining clients.
As a Senior Consultant in Environmental Studies based in our Lima office, Vanessa is responsible for performing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) as well as coordinating with our business development teams in Peru, Chile, and Argentina to prepare commercial proposals for mining clients.
She has held various positions in consulting companies and for mine owners, including project coordinator, project manager, and environmental management superintendent. Key projects include Antamina (Compañía Minera Antamina), Yanacocha (Newmont), Antapaccay (Glencore), Las Bambas (MMG Las Bambas), San Rafael (Minsur), Mina Justa (Marcobre) and La Arena (PanAmericanSilver).
As an active participant in the mining industry, Vanessa is a member of the International Association of Environmental Impact Assessment (IAIA) and Women in Mining Peru (WIM), supporting women’s participation in the mining sector and promoting good practices in diversity and inclusion within the industry.
Vanessa is a biologist with a degree from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) in Peru and has a Master’s degree in Ecology and Conservation from the same university.
