Yessenia is a project engineer with an electrical and instrumentation engineering background, with experience in the engineering, procurement and construction phases of mining projects. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, with complementary studies in the fundamentals of measurement, industrial variables controls, and project management. Yessenia has held numerous positions, including electrical engineer, interim lead of electrical and instrumentation, and project engineer. As Project Engineer at Ausenco, Yessenia is responsible for ensuring the completion of projects and tasks within the allotted time and budget, the coordination of engineering teams across offices in 3 regions, client meetings, budget controls, monitoring procurement processes, and regular mine visits to oversee project development. She also provides electrical and instrumentation engineering support on various projects, working directly with the electrical team in developing technical documentation.
At Ausenco, Yessenia’s key project experience includes Project Engineer for construction projects at the Pirquitas and Chinchillas mines in Jujuy, Argentina. She was also Interim Chief of Electrical and Instrumentation during the development of the detailed engineering for these projects, responsible for leading the electrical division. Yessenia’s other project experience includes the pre-feasibility study for the Zafranal Copper-Gold project, as well as the study and definition phase for the Mina Justa Copper project.
Yessenia’s career with Ausenco began as a graduate intern, supporting the detailed engineering reviews for the Constancia Copper project. She quickly gained practical experience and has progressed through several roles, each with an increase in responsibility.
