The Ausenco Foundation and employees from our Santiago, Chile office were again delighted to support the Pumanque community, located 160 kilometres south of Santiago in Chile. The town of Pumanque was seriously impacted by the Chile earthquake in 2010 and at that time we helped to rebuild and upgrade the town’s library after it was badly damaged in the earthquake.
Ausenco representatives visited the library again in April this year to present a variety of books to the community in a ceremony attended by local authorities, teachers, students and administrators. The donation included books that are required reading on the Chilean syllabus for elementary and high school students. Multiple copies of classics such as The Diary of Anne Frank, Romeo and Juliet, The Little Prince and others were among the donations which are now available to the community. Town mayor, Francisco Castro expressed his thanks to the Ausenco Foundation for the donation of books and previous initiatives supported by the Foundation over the past three years.
