Roberto has more than 18 years of international experience as a civil engineer on large scale projects, with expertise in onshore pipeline design and related infrastructure. His portfolio of work includes projects in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, and the U.S.A. Roberto is based out of Ausenco’s Chile office where he is Director of Pipelines, South America. His responsibilities in this role involve overseeing the implementation and commissioning of long-distance pipelines and associated facilities.

Roberto received his civil engineering degree from the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba in Argentina and a Masters of Science in Engineering Management and Leadership from Purdue University in the U.S.A. His interest in engineering began at a young age, through his parents – both engineers – on site visits and work discussions.

The Los Bronces project in Chile is one of Roberto’s most memorable projects. Roberto worked extensively on detail engineering the copper ore slurry transport system and reclaimed water system. This copper ore pipeline is one of a kind, transporting 87ktpd through 52km, with the first slurry valves class 900# of 30”diameter at each of the five choke stations.

Roberto is invigorated by the challenging work he does, and thrives in the Ausenco culture which encourages innovation. With a team of internationally recognized pipeline experts as colleagues, Roberto delivers industry-leading solutions with a focus on best project economics for his clients.
