In this ‘new normal’ we are being challenged to make fundamental shifts in the way we do business. From social distancing to complete shutdowns at mine and project sites, we must reinvent the way we operate. In our recent North American webinar “Solving site challenges remotely” Robin Kalanchey, Dr Rajiv Chandramohan and Dr Doug Bright discussed current best practices for serving mine and project sites remotely.
Robin leads the webinar with a discussion of the key considerations and strategies for executing a virtual mine site visit. Having recently executed two ‘remote’ visits, Robin reveals the unexpected benefits of this approach. Dr. Rajiv Chandramohan then provides an overview of how remote mine plant diagnoses is helping his clients reassess and redefine their mine plan in this time of uncertainty. Success stories from Mexico and Laos are reviewed. Our final presenter, Dr. Doug Bright discusses how Environmental DNA (eDNA), an exciting new tool, provides a non-invasive approach to species and biodiversity assessments and monitoring.
