Waterloo: Comfortable, secure and adaptable space built within precise time and cost parameters

Location
Waterloo, Ontario
Client
Robertson Simmons Architects
Timeframe
2007

This development began construction in the spring of 2007. Phase One included a 150,000 sq ft six storey office tower, a single storey link building containing service functions and a remote, single storey building, containing back-up generator equipment. Phase Two is to be an identical, mirrored building.

One of Canada’s most remarkable high tech success stories, the client for this project requires comfortable, secure and adaptable space built within precise time and cost parameters. The project is being built under a construction management delivery system and will involve a series of sequential bid packages.

A distinctive roof line and striking building massing are combined with a rich design of varied glazing patterns giving the building a corporate and contemporary feel. Like the neighbouring office developments, the site is extensively landscaped to create a natural, park-like setting for building users and visitors.
