Location
Victoria, Australia
Client
Bendigo Mining Limited
Timeframe
2006
Commodity

The plant is designed to process 600 000 t/y of ROM ore sourced from extensions and developments to underground workings. The plant recovers gold from the ore by a combination of gravity concentration, flotation and intensive cyanidation of concentrates.

Ausenco’s scope of services was to provide detailed engineering, procurement, construction management and commissioning/ ramp-up.

Key process equipment included 48” x 36” jaw crusher, Jaques J35 cone crusher, 1020mm diameter x 500mm wide, 2 x 200kW high pressure grinding roll crusher, 3.2m diameter x 5.5m EGL, 750 kW Ball Mill, 3 x IPJ 2400 pressure jigs, 4 x ISP30 inline spinners, ILR2000 continuous intensive leach reactor, 5 x 15m3 flotation cells, 7 x 18.5m3 CIL tanks, MCCs, control rooms, office laboratory, electronic security system and acoustic insulation of process plant buildings to minimise noise emissions.

Acheivements

  • The project site was located near to residential houses and therefore the project had to comply with stringent restrictions on noise, dust and effluent emissions during construction and operation
  • First HPGR installation in Australia for Hard Rock Mining
  • Process plant was installed inside acoustic insulated buildings
  • Whole plant located within an excavated pit to reduce noise
