The Mount Pleasant GO Station in West Brampton, at the intersection of Creditview Road and Bovaird Drive allows for increased services in the Brampton and Georgetown areas.
The station building itself is designed in the tradition of an early 1900’s Canadian heritage railroad station.
The facilities provide for approximately 600 parking spaces, a kiss and ride passenger drop-off area, and a bus loop for GO and local transit.
A pedestrian tunnel with elevators connects the facilities on the south side of the C.N. tracks to the platform on the north side of the tracks. Pedestrian access is also available from Pleasant Road located on the north side of the tracks.
A second structure has been installed under the tracks for future tunnel access.
Ausenco provided all engineering and architectural services for the project. This work included project management covering Class EA Environmental Study (Group B), archaeological investigations, landscaping, and Public Information Sessions, as well as detailed design for site services, building and pedestrian tunnels. Ausenco also provided construction management services.
The facility was officially opened on 07 February 2005.
All construction, including the installation of the tunnel structures was completed while maintaining traffic on Southern Ontario’s busiest rail corridor.
