In 2011 Ausenco was awarded a contract for German based, global wind technology company, Enercon.
The contract included the erection and installation of three E 53 wind turbines at the Mt Barker Wind Farm in southern Western Australia.
The wind farm is located on a hill on a private sheep station 4 km north of Mt Barker. As the location is inland, the wind turbines are positioned on 73m high towers to maximise wind power.
Included in Ausenco’s scope were aerial and underground cabling connection to the grid and the metering to the switch room. This wind farm project was jointly funded by the community owned Mt Barker Power Company and Advanced Energy Resources.
Ausenco’s work on this wind farm demonstrates our commitment to our core value of “Respect the community and environment” – wherever we operate in the world, we respect the diverse communities and environments. We understand that our actions leave a lasting impression, and we want to make sure it’s a good one for future generations.
