Financial modelling

At Ausenco, we focus on finding the best way to optimize shareholder value for our clients, and our in-house financial modeling team plays a key role in achieving this objective.

Our financial modeling services are used during all stages of technical studies, ranging from preliminary scoping and trade-off studies to bankable feasibility studies, and comply with reporting standards such as NI 43-101, SK-1300, and JORC.

The models illustrate the impact on project returns from various technical scenarios and trade-offs such that the final decision is not only based on the best technical outcome but also one which drives the best financial outcome for the project and its stakeholders.

We can easily sensitize key input drivers of project returns and display key metrics such as NPV, IRR and payback period.

We provide:

Scoping and preliminary economic analysis studies

  • Mine-to-mill analysis to identify the optimum pairing of mining approach and mining rate with processing technology and process plant throughput.
  • Multiple built in scenarios for robust and systematic trade-off for flowsheet selection.
  • Preliminary financial models prepared on pre-tax and post-tax basis that assess production and economics on an annual basis.

Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies

  • Detailed financial models prepared on pre-tax and post-tax basis that assess production and economics on quarterly and/or monthly basis.
  • Mine plan underpinned by in-situ reserves.

As a project moves into the later stages of development, our team evaluates various funding scenarios to determine the best approach for executing the project.
