With over 30 years of professional experience in project procurement for large-scale mining, Eliecer Ramírez has worked with clients such as BHP Minera Escondida, CAP Minería, BHP Spence, and Codelco, among others.
Eliecer Ramirez began his career in the mining industry by chance in 1994, when he lost a job in the banking sector, where he had worked for several years, and an acquaintance referred him for a position at Flúor Daniel. Today, more than 30 years later, he is grateful for that stroke of luck, which has allowed him to build a solid career in mining procurement, having worked on projects for clients such as BHP Minera Escondida, CAP Minería, BHP Spence, Candelaria de Lunding Mining, Mantos Copper, Collahuasi, Freeport, Minsur, and Codelco, among others.
He joined Ausenco in 2019 and supported the development, execution and construction of the Mantoverde project, which was particularly challenging as it was conducted during the period of the pandemic, a time when materials were scarce and prices rose.
During his career, he has also participated in projects such as Marimaca; San Rafael de Minsur in Peru; Capricornio by Albemarle; Fruta del Norte by Lundin Gold in Ecuador; San Bartolomé in Bolivia; and Andina Phase II by Codelco.
He is currently supporting the execution phase of the Mantoverde expansion project and assisting with the interim engineering study for the Santo Domingo project, both of which are owned by Capstone Copper. In addition, he is supporting project studies with Codelco and Collahuasi.
