Isaac is a mechanical engineer who leads Ausenco’s Simulation and Business Optimisation (SBO) practice. He guides a team delivering logistics and dynamic simulation studies across the mining, energy and shipping sectors. His expertise spans discrete event simulation, study management, data analysis, data processing, visualisations, storytelling and developing logistics strategies.
Isaac has delivered a variety of projects in the transportation, logistics and mining industries. Most recently, he led the development of a complex multi-modal transportation simulation model along a waterway, supporting continuous logistics advisory services for a major Brazilian company. In this study, he evaluated multiple logistics configurations and product destinations, defined the required train, barge, and vessel fleet sizes, estimated storage needs across multiple points and informed handling rates. This study helped our client understand the waterway variability which dictates the throughput.
He was also the technical lead for a simulation study in northern Canada, modelling an integrated iron ore transportation system that included a screening and crushing plant, rail transportation, a greenfield export terminal, and global shipping and discharge operations at client terminals.
Isaac is completing his application for professional engineering designation in British Columbia and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, graduating with distinction from the University of British Columbia.
