Juan José has a strong track record across all stages of mining projects, from conceptualization to detailed engineering. His expertise in simulation and mass balance for large-scale projects, using tools such as JKSimmet, METSIM, and Matlab/Simulink, has been instrumental in designing process flow diagrams, selecting and sizing equipment, and optimizing processes for both metallic (copper, gold, and silver) and non-metallic (lithium and potassium) mining projects.
A Chemical Civil Engineer with a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, he has contributed to feasibility and pre-feasibility studies, plant expansions, and bottleneck identification and resolution initiatives. Throughout his career, he has published various studies and led key projects for our Technical Services practice in Chile. His specialization in hydrometallurgy, with a focus on leaching and metal recovery, positions him as a key expert within the team.
