Julio has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, contributing to several mining and civil projects for various clients. His expertise includes leach pads, earth and tailings dams, unsuitable material deposits, waste rock, topsoil and pond design, among other areas.
He specialises in geotechnical field investigation, performing activities such as pit logging, geotechnical and geo-mechanical borehole logging and oriented logging. Julio also conducts soil and rock sampling, quarry location and description, geo-mechanical mapping, and field penetration and permeability testing. As a leader, he oversees the supervision of field monitoring equipment.
Since 2014, Julio has managed several projects in Peru, including the JJC Antamina agreement for the engineering support of the truck workshop for Antamina, the geotechnical support for the Cerro Verde facility relocation project and the Bear Creek geotechnical field study and laboratory project.
Julio holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the National Engineering University in Lima, and a diploma in quality and project management from the Catholic University of Peru.
