As a lead project and design engineer, Nicole fosters long term-partnerships with clients through clear communication, responsiveness and trust. She manages projects of varying sizes and complexities, tailoring her services to meet specific client needs. Nicole collaborates with a diverse network of stakeholders, including public and private sector clients, contractors, government personnel, architects, and engineers.
Nicole started her career in structural restoration, which expanded into broader structural engineering projects focused on maintenance, modifications, improvements, and the lifecycle extension of structures. She has served as the prime consultant for multi-discipline renovation and upgrade projects and representative in an advisory capacity for seismic risk reduction works, asset management programs, and long-term capital improvement projects.
Nicole’s recent experience includes leading the structural engineering scope for the North Fraser Pre-trial Centre Building Rehabilitation in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia (BC). She also oversaw the Richmond Centre mall structure during the construction of a new master-planned community. Additionally, she assessed and designed replacement pedestrian bridges at the University of British Columbia Botanical Gardens. Nicole also managed the structural condition assessment of the Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver, BC, overseeing the first phase of the stadium’s concrete restoration from design through to construction. These experiences have honed her ability to adapt quickly to change and manage technical teams effectively.
A recognized leader in the industry, Nicole is known for her expertise in improving the seismic resilience of infrastructure through proper seismic restraint of operational and functional components (seismic engineering for building parts, fixtures, equipment, and contents). She presented a paper on this topic at the Pacific Conference on Earthquake Engineering in June 2023 and contributed to another presentation at the World Conference on Earthquake Engineering in June 2024.
Nicole is a registered professional engineer, and a LEED accredited professional through Canada’s Green Building Council. She obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in civil and structural engineering (with distinction) from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
