Patricio is an electrical engineer with over 30 years of experience leading multidisciplinary projects for the mining industry in South America. As VP of Commissioning based in the Santiago office, Patricio leads the commissioning, engineering, and project management teams, and is responsible for developing and overseeing commissioning support on major projects including BHP's Spence Growth Option (SGO), Teck's Quebrada Blanca Phase 2 (QB2), Anglo American's Quellaveco and the Minera Los Pelambres (MLP) complementary Infrastructure project (INCO).
Patricio has extensive knowledge of mining operations, with a focus on the start-up stage. His expertise lies in the maintenance of concentrator plants throughout the milling process, and he has also overseen numerous operational readiness (OR), commissioning, and ramp-up projects. Throughout his career, Patricio has held various roles across multiple mining projects, including maintenance manager in concentrator plants, corporate manager in maintenance strategy development, engineering manager, and commissioning manager for concentrator plant projects.
Patricio’s expertise has contributed to the Phase 3.5 Project, Organic Grow Option Project (OGP1), and Los Colorados Extension Project, all for Minera Escondida.
His outstanding technical knowledge, ability to create strong teams and integration, and excellent strategic vision produce exceptional project results from both a technical and teamwork standpoint.
Patricio received his B.Sc. from the School of Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María in Valparaíso, Chile.
