Peter is a conscientious, adaptable, and dynamic leader with over 18 years of experience in the mining, consulting and construction sectors in Canada, US, Ireland, and the UK. He has held various roles in EPC, EPCM, consultancy and client-side, giving him a well-rounded perspective.

As Director of Operations based in the Vancouver office, Peter leads the office along with being responsible for a portfolio of projects studies, and teams, and is responsible for developing and supervising the execution of business operations and planning at the Vancouver office.

Peter’s previous roles include project manager, construction manager and study manager. In these roles he has led teams and honed his skills as a people manager, always leading by example and with his team’s best interests at heart. He focuses on creating a culture where his team is supported, valued, and empowered to find a better way.

In addition to his people skills, he has a reputation of consistently delivering high quality work and finding solutions to clients’ challenges. Since joining Ausenco in 2011, he has worked on numerous high profile projects and studies ranging from $5M to $2B USD including delivering the FS, GMP and EPC price for Blackwater Gold project in British Columbia, Canada, the EPCM for the Goldstrike Project in Nevada, USA, and the PFS and EP services for Gibraltar Crusher Relocation Project in British Columbia, Canada.

Peter has a bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from the Technological University in Dublin. He is a Professional Engineer with the Engineers & Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC), a Chartered Engineer in Ireland and the UK, and is trained and certified for above-ground mine work with Mining, Safety, Health, and Administration (MSHA).
