Joe specialises in large marine infrastructure and industrial development projects. He brings extensive experience designing and implementing baseline studies, impact assessments and delivering regulatory approvals under Canadian environmental legislation. As an active member of the dive team, Joe continues to stay hands‑on, supporting projects across Canada as a senior marine biologist.
As National Marine Lead, Joe provides national-level oversight of project management, technical delivery, and resource allocation. He drives collaboration across business lines to ensure consistent delivery and a unified approach. His accountability spans project performance, resourcing strategy, and long-term client relationships, ensuring Ausenco's marine practice to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Joe also plays a key role in fostering partnerships with Indigenous communities. As Indigenous Business Account Lead for Ausenco’s partnership with the Gitxaala First Nation in Prince Rupert, he supports initiatives focused on capacity development, knowledge transfer and collaborative project opportunities along British Columbia’s North Coast.
Before joining Ausenco, Joe worked with leading environmental consulting firms and marine research organisations in Canada and New Zealand. His experience spans fisheries monitoring, marine habitat assessments, regulatory compliance and environmental program implementation for ports, terminals, transportation infrastructure and LNG developments.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Victoria and is a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio.). He is also a certified commercial scientific diver and has extensive field experience conducting underwater environmental investigations.
