Mike is a Project Director and mechanical engineer with more than 20 years of experience delivering major mining and mineral processing projects across Australia, Africa and Asia. He has led multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery, including feasibility studies, engineering, procurement, contract management, construction, commissioning and handover.
Mike grew up on a cattle farm and his early career spanned mechanical engineering, field engineering and construction supervision. These experiences shaped his practical, pragmatic and field-informed leadership style. He quickly assesses challenges through a realistic lens, connecting engineering decisions with project strategy, constructability, execution planning, safe site delivery and operational outcomes.
His experience spans greenfield and brownfield projects in gold, copper, lithium, mineral sands and iron ore. Key assignments include the Kathleen Valley Lithium Project in Western Australia, the Motheo Copper Project in Botswana, the Sanbrado and Bomboré gold projects in Burkina Faso and the Toka Tindung gold expansion in Indonesia. He is currently leading the Kobada Gold Project in Mali.
Mike makes clear decisions, sets strong accountability and builds collaborative relationships with clients, contractors and vendors. He creates delivery-focused teams grounded in fairness, reason and integrity.
