Keenan is a registered professional engineer with real-world mining operations experience, strong technical expertise, and excellent managerial skills. As Director, Project Execution Support, he supports the successful delivery of EPCM projects, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and client expectations.

Keenan brings technical oversight to engineering deliverables, shapes execution strategies, and supports project design while fostering client relationships and pursuing new business opportunities.

Keenan’s deep technical knowledge and experience in operations management, operational and financial planning and budgeting, metal accounting, major capital projects and business case development makes him a valuable contributor to our clients’ complex projects.

His career began as a process engineer at South African Platinum Group, where he focused on continuous improvement initiatives and monitoring process plant key performance metrics. He later transitioned to the processing technical team as a Technical Specialist, working on numerous concentrator and smelter major capital projects. He became Technical Manager of Anglo American’s Amandelbult Operations (including a JV company) in 2018 and was promoted to Principal Process Engineer in 2021 to provide technical and leadership expertise to all Anglo American Platinum’s concentrator operations in Southern Africa.

Since joining Ausenco in 2022, Keenan has worked on numerous key projects including, Canada Nickel’s Crawford feasibility study, Dumont Nickel’s feasibility study update, Treasury Metals’ Goliath Gold Complex pre-feasibility study, Generation Mining’s Marathon feasibility study update and Probe Gold’s Novador preliminary economic assessment. Other noteworthy clients that Keenan has supported through various project phases include Sibelco, Agnico Eagle Mining, O3 Mining, Standard Lithium and St. Barbara.

Keenan obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. He is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
