Ausenco Rylson has been announced the winner of the award for best Cost Saving Initiative at the Queensland Mining Contractors Awards. The team’s cost and reliability optimisation work on the Century Mine Project achieved 17% savings in lifecycle plan costs for the client and was recognised as ‘best in class’, winning out against stiff competition including fellow-finalists Ausenco whose work on the Isaac Plains Coal Handling and Preparation Plant.

Last night’s awards’ presentation dinner at the Queensland Mining Exhibition in Mackay, Queensland was attended by 500 industry participants and honoured the achievements of the 16 contractors and suppliers shortlisted for their brilliance, problem-solving, technical innovation and smart thinking.

The esteemed judging panel, with more than 100 years’ combined mining experience, comprised three industry leaders; Trevor Davies – former Chief Executive Officer for Golding Contractors Pty Ltd, Michael Gray – Managing Director Bandanna Energy, and Jan Anfruns – Director of JCA Guiding Solutions, bringing a high calibre of expertise to the judging process.

Judge Trevor Davies described Ausenco Rylson’s entry as a stand-out submission which delivered a win-win for all concerned while judge Michael Gray commented that “The entrepreneurial approach adopted shows a contractor with the confidence to back their own performance, leading to significant and mutually beneficial outcomes for both the client and the contractor.”

Congratulations to all involved in achieving recognition for our work in delivering value to our clients.
