Benjamín has a strong technical foundation, with expertise in coastal and oceanic waves. He specialises in coastal hydrodynamics and morphodynamics, their numerical representation, and stochastic processes. By applying computer science and statistical tools, he assesses metocean and morphological conditions and their impacts on port and coastal developments.
As an experienced team leader and project manager, Benjamín creates an environment of trust, autonomy and accountability, enabling distributed collaboration. He aligns project requirements with each team member’s skills, abilities and aspirations, to deliver efficient, technically sound work, that meets clients’ needs.
Benjamin has managed port and coastal infrastructure projects for the last 10 years, providing specialist advice on coastal processes in multidisciplinary projects across Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East. Before joining Ausenco, Benjamín was the costal modelling section head at PRDW – Consulting Port and Coastal Engineers for the Santiago office, where he was responsible for the assessment of the coastal processes for all projects.
Benjamín holds a diploma in hydraulic civil engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago, Chile, and a master’s degree in civil engineering with a specialisation in coastal engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
