Environmental risk assessors are like scientific detectives—I love putting all the pieces together to find the right solutions that best fit my clients’ needs.

Over the span of her career, Jennifer has contributed to more than 80 environmental risk assessments across a wide range of sites, including industrial, rural, marine, freshwater and terrestrial environments. Her roles have evolved from field sample collection and report writing to project management, senior review and team leadership.

She has conducted site investigations and human health and ecological risk assessments for government, First Nation, industrial and commercial clients. Her responsibilities have included building and supervising project teams, managing projects, coordinating and executing site investigations, analysing and interpreting complex data, and consulting with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Jennifer has worked extensively in environmental consulting, delivering environmental assessments, risk assessments, closure objectives and criteria, remedial options analyses (ROA), remedial action plans (RAP), remedial excavations, federal government closure reporting and project management.

In her current role as a senior environmental risk assessor, Jennifer provides both leadership and technical expertise. She is well-versed in federal guidelines and the British Columbia Contaminated Site Regulation standards and framework. Her experience includes completing screening level, preliminary quantitative, qualitative and detailed quantitative environmental risk assessments, as well as developed site-specific criteria for soil, groundwater and surface water.

Her recent notable projects include a human health and ecological risk assessment for a former tailings area near Nelson, BC, a human health risk assessment supporting a proposed mine project near Atlin, BC, and the development of risk-based restoration standards for abandoned mine sites in the Yukon.
