I’m passionate about building relationships and genuine partnerships. By engaging local and Indigenous communities early and meaningfully in project design and implementation, we can co-create shared value and a positive legacy for future generations.

As the Director of Social Performance, Maria-Ines helps clients identify and manage social and human rights risks and opportunities. She supports alignment and compliance with domestic and international standards, addresses investor and lender expectations, and responds to the needs of local and Indigenous communities. She also provides strategic leadership to assess the impacts of resource development and to design mitigation and enhancement measures. In doing so, she helps clients develop mutually beneficial solutions that maintain and sustain land access.

Maria-Ines has held advisory and management roles in oil and gas, mining, the Canadian and Peruvian governments, environmental consulting firms and sustainable finance institutions. She has facilitated collaboration among federal and provincial governments, industry stakeholders, and research institutions to promote clean technology innovation.

She is a lawyer with a master of science in sustainable energy development. She earned her law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and her master’s from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Early in her career, Maria-Ines served as a negotiator and advisor for Peru’s Ministry of Agriculture during multilateral and bilateral negotiations under the World Trade Organization and the Free Trade Area of the Americas.
