Yan is the Vice President of Minerals & Metals, GTA and brings over 20 years of experience in the mining sector. With a background in project management and execution, business development and strategic advisory to leadership, Yan has successfully overseen numerous teams and high-profile projects. She has served as an executive advisor to several CEOs in the industry, providing her with valuable insights and experience that she leverages in her current role.

Yan is responsible for steering the strategic direction of the Minerals & Metals team in Toronto. This involves growing the business by identifying new opportunities, driving operational excellence, and working closely with the team to deliver outstanding results for clients and stakeholders.

Yan is dogmatic in her pursuit to break down barriers, unpack challenges, and set a clear path for her team, and projects, to succeed. She is recognized as a mentor and champion of professional growth and career development - inspiring and motivating her team to think big and create innovative solutions.

One of Yan’s notable achievements includes her work on the Magino EPC project in Ontario, Canada, where she quickly transitioned from senior project engineer to project manager. Her involvement in the delivery of the project provided her with invaluable experience in the execution of a lump sum project. Other noteworthy roles in projects include engineering manager at Oyu Tolgoi project, Mongolia and as contract administrator/project engineer at Rainy River gold project in Ontario within a multi-office team.

Yan attended the University of British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
