Joel is Ausenco’s Global Practice Lead for Terminals & Transportation, with over 25 years of experience in design, management, and execution of marine bulk terminal construction projects. He was previously employed as a Manager at a multi-cargo bulk export terminal for 15 years, supervising terminal expansions and major maintenance projects as well as managing the operation’s environmental systems.
In his 12 years with Ausenco, he has managed many terminal projects around the world, ranging from concept studies to design and construction projects, as well as specialty consulting, third party review and inspection services. As part of his consulting practice, Joel focuses on services to improve the operations and maintenance of existing facilities, which includes simulation modelling and asset management. In this capacity he applies his personal experience in managing issues around safety, and operational efficiency in multi-modal transportation and ship loading operations.
Joel has excellent working knowledge in the operation of multi cargo bulk terminals, and is very familiar with the material handling requirements for the receipt, storage and ship loading of coal, iron ore, metal concentrates, potash, fertilizers, agricultural products, phosphate rock and many other bulk cargos.
