With an extensive background spanning diverse industries, geographies, cultures, and the management of large dynamic teams, Sandy brings a wealth of experience to her role as Chief Operating Officer. In this position, she is responsible for overseeing the People & Performance, Health Safety and Environment (HSE), Marketing and the Technology Services & Solutions (IT) functions and ensuring they are aligned with the company’s strategic vision and broader business objectives.
Sandy has over 27 years of experience in assurance-related roles across various sectors, including construction, mining, mineral processing, and refining. Her expertise spans both operator and client-side positions. She specializes in operational management, risk mitigation strategies, capital project advisory, and compliance auditing.
With a leadership philosophy rooted in trust, Sandy emphasizes the importance of understanding diverse perspectives. She believes in supporting teams by aligning their efforts with the company’s goals and driving collaboration across all levels. Her approach is to ensure that decisions are made thoughtfully and data-driven, and that every action taken supports not only today, but long-term growth and sustainability.
Before joining our leadership team, Sandy honed her expertise at Worley, where she thrived as a generalist, managing multiple functions, providing strategic oversight, solving complex problems, and fostering a strong culture of collaboration. Her ability to navigate the balance between innovation and practicality ensures that Ausenco remains competitive and relevant in an ever-changing landscape, positioning us for success.
Sandy holds various qualifications from the North-West University of South Africa and is a graduate of the Executive Management Programme at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
