Steven is a registered professional engineer with over 15 years of global experience in mineral processing and geometallurgy. He has worked across North and South America, Europe, and Africa on commodities including lithium, gold, silver, copper, molybdenum, and nickel.
As Director of Technical Services, Steven leads process engineering and metallurgy teams from Vancouver, reviews NI 43-101 technical reports, and supports clients to develop project strategies. Known for bridging technical, financial, and client perspectives, he ensures creative process solutions and ingenious metallurgical investigations translate into value-add outcomes for mining projects worldwide.
Steven has used technologies, such as Jameson cells, on several projects to drive efficiencies, aligning process design with Ausenco’s commitment to optimized solutions and CAPEX reductions. He has presented at industry conferences, including the Canadian Mineral Processors Conference, where he presented Assessing Risks and Opportunities for Metallurgical Value Creation Initiatives by Leveraging In-House Financial Modelling in 2020 and Constancia Project Process Plant Design and Start-up in 2016.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. Steven is a registered Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum (CIM), and an active participant in the Canadian Mineral Processors (CMP) technology society.
