Ana is a chemical engineer with a master’s degree in mineral technology. She also has an MBA and experience with strategic management and mid-term planning. Prior to joining Ausenco, Ana worked at Samarco for almost 15 years and was responsible for process engineering and the operation of pipelines. She has also worked as an independent consulting engineer providing solutions for internal corrosion for Brazilian pipeline companies.
Ana is currently leading the pipelines process team in Belo Horizonte, where she is responsible for coordinating activities for conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering for concentrate, tailings and water pipeline systems to achieve schedule compliance, labour productivity and project quality. She brings a proven track record of delivering value to clients on projects, including her recent work for Anglo American’s iron ore pipeline (Minas-Rio) where she developed an innovative solution for internal corrosion. Anna was also responsible for investigating pipeline internal corrosion mechanisms and proposing a technical solution for Hydro Norsk’s Mineração Paragominas bauxite pipeline.
A strong advocate for continued innovation, Ana had previously contacted vendors worldwide to figure out how UV disinfection could be applied to water batches transported by slurry pipelines in the mining industry.
