As Ausenco’s Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Lead, Hilary assists clients with complex sustainability challenges. With over 10 years of experience in the mining and environmental industries, she integrates sustainability initiatives and facilitates regulatory compliance to create opportunities and manage risks.
In her previous role as an environmental superintendent, she supported teams in the design and execution of an ore slurry pipeline replacement in Madagascar, supporting project planning while protecting the surrounding natural and human environment. Hilary led a team of specialists and worked closely with contractors to find sustainable and practical solutions to complex environmental and social issues without disrupting the project budget or schedule.
Hilary specialises in hydrology, water quality, and erosion and sediment control for mining and construction projects. She has extensive experience in mineral exploration and field work, progressing her career from data collection to managing projects and conducting business development with large clients. Throughout her career, Hilary has gained valuable experience on international projects.
Hilary graduated with a bachelor of science with honours in earth science from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada where she focused on oceanography and geothermal energy. She is a registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) with Engineers and Geoscientist BC (EGBC) and is currently completing a MSc in sustainable management in Paris, France.
