Joel Cummuskey has over 14 years of experience as a mechanical and pipeline engineer, specializing in the design and optimization of concentrate, water and tailings pipelines. His expertise spans both green and brownfield projects specializing in project feasibility studies, operations audits, pump station design, and process plant interfaces. Joel is adept at delivering practical and maintainable solutions, often working with major resource companies to overcome constraints through innovative approaches.
Originally working as a mechanical engineer in process plant design, Joel understands the need for a holistic approach to optimize not just the pipeline but the project as a whole. This comprehensive view allows him to ensure that pipeline systems integrate seamlessly with both upstream and downstream operations, enhancing overall project efficiency.
Throughout his career, Joel has led and contributed to numerous large-scale projects, including leading the engineering of Fortescue's Iron Bridge Magnetite Concentrate Pipeline. He has also worked in major domestic and international construction projects like the Kwale Mineral Sands Project in Kenya, bringing a complete understanding of the project lifecycle.
Joel holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical with Honours) from Curtin University of Technology, and he is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Western Australia
