Rajiv joined Ausenco in 2009 after completing his PhD in mineral processing and process optimisation at the University of Queensland, Australia. Rajiv held various technical roles at Ausenco, working across all our global offices and business lines (Projects and Consulting).
Rajiv is a global leader in process optimisation, comminution, and geometallurgy, and is the Director & Head of Process Optimisation. He manages a team of technical specialists, delivering ingenious solutions that redefine operational efficiency in mineral processing. Rajiv provides technical guidance to study and project teams, fostering an environment of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence. With over 50 peer-reviewed publications, he is a sought-after expert in cost-effective plant optimisation and AI-driven analytics.
With 23 years of experience in operations, engineering, research, and project management, Rajiv is a Subject Matter Expert in comminution (SAG-based circuits, HPGR, and new technology) and mine-to-mill integration, driving high-value initiatives across gold, copper, base metals, graphite, phosphate and polymetallic projects. He peer-reviews optimisation initiatives, ensuring low-cost, efficient designs and exploring non-standard approaches.
He champions Ausenco’s process technology advancements, overseeing equipment selection, flowsheets, process models, and technical studies from concept to commissioning. He provides specialist expertise on high-value projects, promoting innovative technologies like the patented Geopyora test machine, for which he earned the 2021 CEEC Medal. Leading teams to deliver feasibility studies and consultancy services, Rajiv drives sustainable, ESG-aligned solutions, mentoring global talent to set new industry benchmarks.
