I believe that my role, and the role of the legal team, is to help shape company decisions through clarity, trust, commerciality and accountability.

As General Counsel and Company Secretary, Patrick ensures Ausenco operates in alignment with corporate governance requirements and best practices, leads the management of corporate records, and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. He is also responsible for managing a team of legal practitioners in the global planning, development and implementation of strategies, policies and initiatives.

Patrick brings extensive experience working in legal, financial and regulatory roles in Australia and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Ausenco, he worked at various wealth management and financial service companies, banks and financial institutions, as well as the Australian Securities Exchange. Since joining the company in 2011, he has been actively involved in numerous projects globally across multiple business lines, commodities and services. Patrick also has more than 15 years of experience on several not-for-profit boards in Australia.

Patrick has an Australian Bachelor or Laws degree from Queensland University of Technology in Australia and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of South Africa. He also has a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute of Australia and an Investment Management Certificate from the Society of Investment Professionals from the United Kingdom.
